hello there DA.

i hate to sound whiney, but i made a similar entry in my LJ, so i'll do the same thing here.

life has not been all that grand lately for my boy "Beetlejuice" and myself. as you know, he was essentially laid off from his job. any hours they schedule him, we happily scramble for. he was promised another role in the park, but did not receive that either.

i got wind of a cool job, and received it. i was a temp makeup artist for Universal's HHN. due to budget constraints, i only worked 3 evenings the entire event as they used mostly artists that had been with the company before the event.

i was hired on to do caricatures, purchased the supplies, and have not been scheduled since that very first saturday.

my main job, the company i do freelance accessory design for, finally came clean and told me the lady i was working closely with was let go. she was essentially my biggest fan, and because of this, only 4 of about 100 approved items made it to production. my art director has told me that her budget has been frozen, and the last of my items were passed on at a sales level. I went from too busy to know what to do with myself, to nothing. My steady job hath trickled away.

so, essentially, we're scrambling here. i know i have trades and commissions in the works, and i am working dilligently to complete them. however, i am also caught up in that thing called real life, trying to figure out where to proceed from this point. We went from top of the world to scraping the gutter, figuratively anyway. So what I humbly ask is that you be patient with me. I try to be communicative as much as I can, but emailing me daily to check on your status is a bit much. If you feel I've drifted away, please drop me a line at evergreenshineATgmailDOTcom and we can talk.

I'm here, I'm not going anywhere. I know a lot of fandom artists cut and run. I am not that type of person. I realize that I'm just pixels on a screen, as far as a lot of you guys are concerned. But I must ask you to take my word on this.

I have been trying some new things, just trying to improve. and i'm glad people noticed

that's more comments (10) and faves (45) than i normally ever get, even after 5 years on DA. it gets a little disheartening sometimes, so it feels really good when people notice little improvements i'm trying to make

I've had a few people ask about the possibility of commissions in my "roger rabbit" style (ie, your character/avatar drawn in to a photo, interacting with people)...

Yes, I will be available to do more in the near future.

Now I've got Rooth, Ace, Layra, Teeka, and Beetlejuice's auction winner lined up for these.

Perhaps when those are taken care of I can open for more.

Also, got a couple hexadragons to finish, and a Fumei picture to finish, among other lil thingses.

just wanted to poke everyone to come see me in the Marketplace at FC 2007! OMFG JUST A FEW DAYS AWAY OMFG!

I'll be sharing a table with my dearling . I'll be available for regular conbadges, "manic" style conbadges, pencil sketches and manic inked sketches.

I'll not be taking on any larger pieces again until i clear out more of my backlog. I'm not trying to make excuses, of course! I simply never expected to go from a secretary/DJ of my company to full blown Director and running the company ;_; lots of work. egads. Hell, I haven't even managed a trip to the post office in 2 months ;_______;

Also, my boy Mac will be appearing as BEETLEJUICE at FC, for Saturday only. So if you heard rumors of BJ at MFF, they were quite true. But saturday is the only day he'll be in character at FC.
